Shadow is a fearful doodle who came to The Composed Canine to work through some reactivity so his family could take him on walks and enjoy him more. Shadow had a difficult time getting into the car due to his fear. The setup I have here has a crate in the car with 2 gates, one in the back and one seen on the side, so he could hop up, come all the way through, then rinse and repeat. I used a long line and a bit of leash pressure to give him a direction to go, and every time he gave me forward effort I would praise and reward.

By the end of training, getting into the car was no big deal.
