Tailored Training to get you the results you’re looking for.

Take a breath, I’m here to help.

You’re probably here because you feel frustrated with your dog or your dog’s behavior. I totally get it. I was you for years before I took my first dog training class and learned how empowering it is to know the root cause of my dog’s behavior and how I can coach my dog through life. Through training, my dog and I both enjoyed each other even more than before when we were both feeling so frustrated.

It was such a life changing experience, that I changed my career so I could help other people find that empowerment and enjoy their dog more, as well, so those behavior problems would be a thing of the past.

There are several dog training programs to choose from, and each one can be tailored to you and your dog’s specific needs. Sometimes we can even mix and match programs to meet your training goals specific to you.

Graduates from all of our programs are granted access to our exclusive in-home boarding, which always includes touch-up training.

Your Composed Canine - Private Lesson Program

This is our most popular program! This program is best for dogs of any size and temperament, and best for owners who can dedicate 20-40 minutes a day to training their dog.

Your Composed Canine Private Lesson Program garners some of the best results because you do the bulk of the work going through the journey of training your dog.

In just five private lessons, The Composed Canine will coach you through the process of training your dog to:

  • come when called, every time

  • walk nicely by your side with a loose leash

  • sit & stay

  • down & stay

  • go to a designated place cot or dog bed and stay there (this is everyone’s favorite, especially parents!)

Lessons will take place at The Composed Canine training studio and are usually 50 - 90 minutes long.. Upon completion of this program, graduates are invited to 2 months of our Wednesday evening polishing class to practice around other dogs, people, and distractions.

Additional Day Training days are available for dogs who need more help with things like reactivity, working around higher level distractions, or to help solidify the obedience faster and at a higher level.

Day Training can also help to provide physical and mental exercise during the hot summer months or busy days when you don’t want to leave them home for long hours. Fido can spend time on the treadmill, play tug or chase a ball, and depending on your dog’s temperament, small structured play groups are available as well.

Moose the GSP - German Short Haired Pointer and Blue the Husky practice their obedience around each other and other distractions.

Day Camp Jump Start Program

This dog training program is the perfect compromise if you don’t want to leave your dog for a board & train but you don’t have the time to do the work yourself from private coaching.

The Day School Jump Start Program is limited to 3 dogs, so your dog will get plenty of one-on-one attention and learn to practice their obedience around each other.

The Jump Start program will start off with you dropping your dog off at The Composed Canine Training Studio every morning Tuesday - Friday, over the course of two so your dog can receive private lessons. Then you, as the dog owner, will participate in 3 afternoon/evening lessons throughout to learn how to maintain and continue building on the skills your dog is learning. Your job will be to practice the new skills at home!

After the Jump Start day training and lesson portion is complete, you begin attending our Polishing Classes to enhance and add to the skill set that has been taught.

In the Jump Start Program, your dog will learn to

  • come when called, every time

  • walk nicely by your side with a loose leash

  • sit & stay

  • down & stay

  • go to a designated place cot or dog bed and stay there (this is everyone’s favorite, especially parents!)

  • pay attention to you when

If you are facing challenges with serious issues such as fears, phobias, compulsive behaviors, or aggression problems, we highly recommend reaching out to us for a behavioral consultation. Over the years, we have effectively assisted numerous dogs through tailored programs that integrate obedience training, counter-conditioning, and desensitization methods to promote a calmer and better-adjusted canine companion.

Legacy Board & Train Program

This is our most exclusive, done for you program. The Legacy program will have your dog on and off leash trained, giving you freedom and reliability you never thought existed for your dog.

Your dog will learn to live in a calmer state of mind, make better decisions, and look to you for guidance and permission – all while taking the time to build trust and move at your dog’s pace.

Your dog will live with me in my home, go on adventures with me to places like the park, the coffee shop patio, and retail shops around town, in addition to accompanying me to The Composed Canine training studio for training.

During the board & train, your dog will learn to

  • come when called, every time

  • walk nicely by your side with a loose leash

  • sit & stay

  • down & stay

  • go to a designated place cot or dog bed and stay there (this is everyone’s favorite, especially parents!)

  • pay attention to you when out on adventures.

This program is also a great option for dogs who are struggling with more severe behavior problems such as reactivity, aggression, fear, and more.
