Tailored Training to get you the results you’re looking for.

Take a breath, I’m here to help.

Core Skills Taught in Every Program

My goal for everyone who walks through my door is the same: I don’t just want to train your dog—I want to help you build a true partnership.

The skills your dog will learn:

  • Off-leash reliability

  • Loose-leash walking

  • Sit/down/place & stay

  • Manners

  • Play

But training goes beyond just commands and obedience. It’s about fostering clear communication, mutual respect, and trust between you and your dog, so you can enjoy life together with confidence and ease.

The difference between each program is how much time we spend together one-on-one, or how much time our trainers spend with your dog.

Every program comes with support in the form of:

  • access to The Composed Canine VIP facebook group

  • access to a google drive with explainer videos on each concept

  • send us videos of you training for critique

  • written recaps of training lessons

Whatever program you pick, we’re here to help you be successful!

In some cases, we can mix and match and customize your programs to meet your unique needs.

The Good Dog Program

Pflugerville Dog Trainer guiding dog owners in group class to practice a focused sit-stay. Dogs include a Bernedoodle, Goldendoodle, and Border Collie.

This hybrid program combines private and semi-private lessons and group classes - getting your dog working around distractions fast while also giving you personalized one-on-one attention.

Private Lessons: Start with two one-on-one sessions in a distraction-free environment to build engagement and focus.

Semi-Private Sessions: Train alongside up to three dog-handler teams, adding mild distractions to strengthen skills.

Polishing Class: Reinforce and fine-tune obedience in a real-world setting with other dogs, people, and distractions.

This program is best for dogs without severe behavior problems.

Day School Immersion

Want a well-trained dog but don’t have the time to do all the work yourself? Jump start your dog’s training with the Day School Immersion program.

Your dog will attend training Wednesday through Friday for a minimum of two weeks, where they’ll work directly with a professional trainer at The Composed Canine Training Studio. Each Friday evening, you’ll join a lesson to learn how to maintain and build on the skills your dog is learning. Your job will be to practice at home between sessions!

Once the day training portion is complete, you’ll move on to Polishing Classes to continue refining and advancing your dog’s new skills.

In the Jump Start Program, your dog will learn to:

✔️ Come when called, every time

✔️ Walk nicely by your side with a loose leash

✔️ Sit & stay

✔️ Down & stay

✔️ Go to a designated place (cot or dog bed) and stay there – a client favorite!

✔️ Pay attention to you in real-world settings so adventures are a breeze!

If your dog struggles with more serious concerns such as fear, phobias, compulsive behaviors, or aggression, we highly recommend scheduling a behavioral consultation. We have successfully helped many dogs through structured programs that incorporate obedience training, counter-conditioning, and desensitization to create a calmer, more confident companion.

Board & Train

Board & Train options are available on a case by case basis. We do offer a traditional 3 week board and train, or shorter options as a jump start for those who are not able to bring their dog to day school or are traveling and would like to board their dog with me. I take no more than one dog at a time and they stay with me in my home. They do NOT stay overnight at The Composed Canine.

My Commitment to you:

• I will always listen to your concerns and questions with care and respect.

• I will treat both you and your dog with kindness, patience, and understanding.

• I will provide clear, effective guidance tailored to your dog’s needs.

• I will create a positive, supportive training environment that sets you up for success.

• I will partner with you to achieve the best possible results for your dog.

• I will always prioritize your dog’s safety, well-being, and overall progress throughout training.

Hi! I’m Meg and I own The Composed Canine in Pflugerville, TX. I’m a Navy Veteran and graduate of The University of Texas. I’m married to the Best Husband Ever, and I enjoy lifting heavy, CrossFit, and making people laugh.

I started in dog training with a degree in Google University when I adopted my reactive border collie, Emma, in 2011. Pro tip: Google is NOT helpful to solve your dog training and behavior problems. In 2015 after graduating college, I hired my first dog trainer and discovered how empowering it can be to help my dog after years of struggling together.

In 2019 I opened The Composed Canine and in 2024 expanded to a physical location so I could have a centralized location to help more people.

It’s been a heck of a journey but it is so incredibly rewarding to get to help people who struggled like I did.
